Save the Date - May

Downtown Phoenix

May has arrived and I am pretty happy about it! There are so many great events happening throughout the state. Continue reading to see the highlights of what is happening in Flagstaff, Phoenix and Yuma this month. Plan an outing or two that you are sure to enjoy!

Flagstaff

  • 5/5-5/8 - Dark Sky Brewing Company will be celebrating their 8th anniversary all weekend long. Count on live music, an art market and more! Check out all of the details of this festive celebration. Must be 21+ to attend.

  • 5/7 - Support local vendors at the Flagstaff Community Market. There will be various vendors selling food from the region, flowers and more. The market is open on Sundays from 8 am - 12 pm and until mid-October.

  • Guess what?!? Arizona Snowbowl has extended the season and the ski lifts are open until May 29th. Take advantage of the reasonable ticket prices and time in the snow! 75% of the lifts remain open and there is an 89” base. It’s hard to believe I am describing Arizona in May.

Phoenix

  • 5/6 - Drop by for Rooftop Yoga at The Clarendon Hotel on Saturdays from 10-111 am. Passes cost $25 per session. Get in some outdoor exercise before it really heats up in the desert!

  • 5/18 - The Cure is on tour and will be performing on May 18th at Desert Diamond Casino in Glendale. There are still some tickets available. This is bound to be a great show!

  • 5/19 - 5/28 - The Spring Arizona Restaurant Week will be back this month! The Arizona Restaurant Week is a great time of year to try out restaurants. During these 10 days, food lovers have the opportunity to enjoy a prix-fixe dinner for $33, $44 or $55 per person or couple. Note that the pricing does not include drinks, tax or gratuity. See which restaurants in the valley are participating and start making reservations!

Yuma

  • 5/4 - Waylon’s Water World at Z Fun Factory is open Thursday - Sunday for the season. Check out day and season ticket prices here. This is a great place to keep cool as the temperatures increase.

  • 5/5 - Celebrate National Space Day from 7-9:30 PM at the Colorado River State Historic Park. This is a free event that includes telescope viewing, activities and educational booths. Click here for additional information.

  • 5/27-5/29 - The Men’s City Golf Championship will be held at Desert Hills Golf Course during Memorial Weekend. Register and pay the $150 entrance fee by May 23rd. Participants must be 16+ to play in the event.

For most kids in Arizona, their summer will kick off this month. Check out your local Parks & Rec guide for additional activities that are offered throughout the season. Leave a comment below with an event that you look forward to attending this month.
