Why This New Downtown Yuma Airbnb Should Be Your Next Weekend Escape
Text your friends and start planning your next weekend in Yuma, Arizona!
This is a great spot for a staycation with friends.
If you're anything like me, you know that sometimes the best vacations don't require a plane ticket. Sometimes all you need is a weekend with your favorite people, good food, a walkable downtown, and a cozy place that feels like home the moment you walk through the door.
I recently had the chance to stay at one of Downtown Yuma's newest Airbnb properties, Este Sol at the Case Verde Guest House, before it officially opens to the public on August 1, and I can honestly say it's one of my favorite local stays yet.
As someone who loves finding unique places to stay while traveling, I'm always drawn to accommodations that have personality. This isn't one of those rentals that's filled with generic furniture and mass-produced artwork. Every room feels intentional. Every detail tells a story. It's clear that the owners wanted guests to experience Yuma, not just visit it.
If you're planning a girls' weekend, celebrating a birthday, looking for a staycation, or simply want a fun place to explore Downtown Yuma, add this one to your list.
A Home That Feels Like Yuma
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how thoughtfully the space had been designed.
They didn’t miss a detail!
Everywhere you look, there are details share Yuma’s story.
Instead of following every trendy Airbnb design you see online, this home embraces the character of Yuma. The décor reflects our desert surroundings, local history, and the relaxed charm that makes this community special. There are little touches throughout the home that make you stop and smile, and you can tell someone spent a lot of time thinking about every piece.
It feels warm.
It feels welcoming.
Most importantly, it feels authentic.
As someone who has stayed in several Airbnbs, those are the places I remember most.
Cozy Without Feeling Small
The bookcase in the second bedroom has such a great selection of books.
One of my favorite things about this Airbnb is how comfortable it feels.
It's the kind of place where you can wake up slowly with a cup of tea or coffee, spend time chatting with friends before heading out for the day, and come back in the evening ready to unwind.
The living area is inviting, the bedrooms are cozy, and everything you need for a comfortable stay has already been thought of. The kitchen is stocked for preparing breakfast or snacks before heading out to explore, the seating areas make it easy to gather together, and the overall atmosphere encourages you to relax.
Sometimes the best accommodations aren't the biggest, they're simply the ones that make you feel at home.
This one does exactly that.
The Perfect Home Base for a Girls' Weekend
My stay reminded me just how much there is to do in Downtown Yuma.
One of the biggest perks of staying here is that you're close to so many local favorites. You can park your car and spend the rest of your weekend exploring on foot.
A few ideas for your itinerary include:
Start your morning with coffee from a local café. A few favorites are North End Coffeehouse, Cafecito, and Good Habit
Browse the boutiques and small businesses downtown. Don’t miss Rebel & Rove and Revival Fix!
Learn about Yuma’s history by visiting the Sanguinetti House Museum & Garden and the Garden Cafe (open October - May). The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area offers museums such as the Yuma Territorial Prison.
Visit the Yuma Art Center.
Walk along the Colorado River.
If the weather is warm, I say plan to float the river. It’s really my favorite thing to do when it’s hot!
Grab dinner at one of Downtown Yuma's locally owned restaurants. Lute’s is a restaurant everyone should experience! I suggest the potato tacos are the chicken Philly sandwich.
End the evening with drinks while enjoying Yuma's laid-back atmosphere.
Whether your group loves shopping, history, great food, or simply spending time together, Downtown Yuma has a little something for everyone. Being able to stay right in the middle of it all makes the experience even better.
Thoughtful Details Make the Difference
What really sets this Airbnb apart isn't just the location, t's the care that went into creating it.
There are two bedrooms and both have a king-sized bed. Each room has a very comfortable bed, and the sheets were so soft.
TVs are available in each bedroom and the living area.
Throughout my stay I kept noticing little details that made the space feel special.
The artwork.
The color palette.
The comfortable furnishings.
The little decorative touches that celebrate Yuma without feeling overdone.
It's easy to create a rental property.
It's much harder to create a place people actually remember.
This feels like a home someone genuinely loves and is excited to share with visitors.
Those thoughtful touches make all the difference.
Why Stay Local?
I think we sometimes forget that we don't always have to travel hours away to enjoy a memorable weekend.
I've traveled to a lot of places, and one thing I've learned is that every destination has hidden gems and you just have to look for them.
Yuma is no exception.
Whether you're visiting from Phoenix, San Diego, or somewhere farther away, Downtown Yuma offers a fun mix of history, restaurants, local shops, art, and riverfront scenery. And if you're already a local, staying downtown for a night or two gives you a chance to experience your own city in a completely different way.
There's something refreshing about checking into a beautiful space, walking to dinner and exploring without an agenda
My Final Thoughts
I genuinely loved my stay here.
From the moment I arrived, it felt welcoming, comfortable, and incredibly well designed. It's obvious that a great deal of heart went into creating this space, and I think guests are going to appreciate that from the moment they walk through the door.
Whether you're planning a girls' getaway, celebrating a birthday, showing friends around Yuma, or simply looking for a fun staycation, I think this Airbnb is a wonderful choice. It's comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly located for exploring everything Downtown Yuma has to offer.
One of my favorite parts was how much the home celebrates Yuma. Instead of feeling like a generic vacation rental, it feels rooted in the community. That made my stay even more memorable, and it's something I think visitors will appreciate too.
Window View!
Take a look out the front bedroom and you’ll see this colorful mural.
If you're looking for a unique place to stay, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. This sweet Airbnb sleeps 6, and is one of two units located in the Casa Verde Guest House.
Disclosure: I was invited to stay at this Airbnb before its official opening as a hosted guest. I was not paid for this review, and all opinions are my own. I only share places and experiences that I genuinely enjoy and think you'll love, too.
