Episode #29 - Making the Most of Community with Veronica Shorr

Veronica Shorr is featured on Episode #29 of the Life in the Desert Podcast. Veronica is a motivated and driven individual that is a huge cheerleader for others and has a huge heart.

Veronica joined the Arizona Community Foundation in 2016. She works with stakeholders, and other community partners to grow charitable assets and enhance community impact through strategic grantmaking and scholarships. A native Yuman, her strengths shine in planning, development, programming, and leadership. Veronica developed a deep passion for community development as a grant writer and program manager. She received a BA in Social Work from Arizona State University, and a master’s degree in Policy, Administration and Community Practice from the same school.

Outside of her work with ACF, Veronica is very involved in the community and serves on various nonprofit boards, committees, and councils. She is a mom of boys! Her sons include Elijah, 18-year-old senior in high school who is an all-star basketball player, Jai, 14-year-old freshmen who loves working out, Benjamin, a 6th grader who loves to skateboard, and three-year-old Thomas, who is just learning about the world around him. Veronica is usually writing notes on her phone, singing nursery rhymes, or learning something new in the kitchen!
