Podcasts That are Just Too Good

Podcasts are just great! You can find a podcast that covers just about any genre and they are a great source of entertainment. I’ve been enjoying podcasts so much, that I thought I’d share my favorites with you.

How to Listen

I use Spotify to listen to Podcasts. I have the premium version which allows me to download episodes and save them on my phone. That way I can listen to podcasts whenever and wherever I like through the app. I don’t have to worry about crazy data usage or the strength of my cellular signal.

A Little Tip

If you have at least two people in your household that like to stream music or podcasts, get a family Spotify account. You can have up to 6 people on the account and you all have your own playlists. Oh and another great perk, its ad-free. This isn’t an ad, just my favorite way to listen to my favorite tunes and podcasts.

What I’m Currently Listening to:

  1. My Favorite Murder - Call me crazy, but this is one good podcast. Karen Kalgariff and Georgia Hardstark are hysterical! They are entertaining while also giving you all of the details about crazy murders that have taken place over the years. This true crime podcast is so interesting and If you are not already a Murderino, you’ll probably turn into one as soon as you start listening. There are close to 200 full length episodes that go back to 2016. Earlier this fall, I started the podcast at the beginning, so one day I’ll catch up to the current episodes. Time Commitment: 60-90 minutes/episode

  2. A Beautiful Mess Podcast - So these two creative sisters started A Beautiful Mess blog over 12 years ago. They are extremely creative and have just recently started a podcast. They have 5 episodes, so it’s a great time to start listening. Elsie and Emma chat about everything under the sun, from 100 Day Challenges to tips on finding your forever home. As Elsie mentions on the first episode, you may have followed an Instagram or blog account for years, but when you start to listen to them on a podcast, it seems like you really get to know the people. I couldn’t agree more! Time commitment: Each episode is about 30 minutes long.

  3. Skimm’d from The Couch by the Skimm is another podcast that I listen to regularly. The so-founders of The Skimm, Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg started their business from their couch. They now chat with powerful business women on the couch. They discuss critical life lessons that they have learned while climbing the ranks in the business world. It is truly motivating to listen to this podcast. One of my favorite episodes is from August 27, 2018 when they interview Jen Rubio, the co-founder of Away. Time Commitment- 30 minutes.

  4. TED Radio Hour by NPR will enlighten you and keep your curious about the topic covered on each episode. I have been a fan of TED Talks for years (and if you haven’t listened to one yet, start now). TED Talks are eye opening and might even change your perspective on a topic or two. TED Talks then led me to Guy Raz’s podcast, TED Radio Hour. Ideas, inventions and more are discussed on the podcast. The interviews are great, and these podcasts will definitely give you something to think about. Time Commitment - Just under an hour

  5. You Must Remember This podcast is by Karina Longworth. Her podcast retells history of Hollywood’s first century. Many of the stories, may be ones you have never heard before. An episode that stands out, was Episode 2: Frank Sinatra in Outer Space. I really learned so much about the well known singer. This podcast is really for those that love a little history and some not-so well known stories. Time Commitment - 40 minutes or less

So the next time you are selecting a podcast, download one of these recommended series and let me know what you think. Listening to podcasts sure makes my commute fly by and I like that it gives me a little something different to think about for the day. You’ve got to love a little brain stimulation!

Let me know in the comments section, what are your favorite podcasts?
