Salad Recipes for Cold Weather

I sure love fall in the desert. The weather is fabulous which allows for our area in the desert to produce delicious produce. With the harvest season in full swing, it’s time for me to share some of my very favorite salad recipes with you. Whether you are entertaining for a large party or are making a meal just for you, you’re bound to love these recipes. They are delicious, healthy and full of leafy greens.

Broccoli Caesar Salad

This recipe is for my Caesar Salad and broccoli lovers! The Kitchn created this recipe and it has now become a favorite of mine. This salad combines a lot of greens and can definitely serve as a meal on its own. An added bonus for my carb loving friends, the recipe calls for homemade croutons, my absolute favorite!

BBQ Ranch Southwest Salad

This salad takes 30 minutes to prep and as Melissa from The Faux Martha explains, it’s a great salad to make when you are wanting to use a little bit of this and that, that you have leftover in the fridge. I am a sucker for salads that call for avocado and corn. It’s a great combination! You could easily add shredded chicken to this salad to add even more protein to the meal.

Winter Spa Salad with Lemon Chicken

This salad is full of flavor and color! With a mixture of citrus, pomegranates and several other delicious ingredients, this is definitely a recipe you must try. The weather might be cooling off, but this salad incorporates all of several in-season products that are even better when put together in a salad. This might be a salad, you just don’t want to share with others and keep it all to yourself.

Winter Salad with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes

Those of you that are tomato lovers, might move this salad to the top of your list. While you might be missing your summer tomatoes, roasted cherry tomatoes are a tasty delight on this salad. Martha Stewart’s recipe is simple and requires few ingredients. Many people will enjoy the toasted walnuts in this dish.

Warm Winter-Vegetable Salad

This salad is not so traditional and will warm you right up during the cold months. Food & Wine shared this colorful salad recipe. i’ll give you a few hints on the ingredients… carrots, sweet potato, beets and more are put together with a vinaigrette dressing. This is great dish for holidays and entertaining!
