Time to Learn Something New

While the days are shorter, there is still time to learn a new skill or pick up a new hobby. Throughout the past six months, I have enrolled in online courses that have allowed me to be more creative and have also helped improve my DIYing (not sure if that is even a word), blogging and podcasting skills. I have enjoyed the classes so much that I wanted to share the opportunities with you.

There are three platforms in which I have taken courses or created crafts from throughout the last six months. I highly recommend each of these options and I hope you find something that you interests you.

  • A Beautiful Mess - I love A Beautiful Mess and all that is offered on their website! From delicious recipes to fun DIY projects, the sky is the limit with all that Emma, Elsie and their team share on a daily basis. One component to A Beautiful Mess that I have really come to appreciate are the self-paced courses.

The topics of classes range from blogging, photography skills, launching a podcast and more. I have taken the blogging and podcasting classes and am very happy with all that I learned. I have been able to put my new learning into practice and that feels so good! If you are curious about using your DSLR camera, podcasting or other topic, check out the course offerings.

If you choose to purchase any of the courses offered by A Beautiful Mess, I will earn a small commission. I must say, the money that I spent on the classes was well worth it and it has been so beneficial.

This is the season she will make beautiful things. Not perfect things, but honest things that speak to who she is and who she is called to be.

  • Brit+Co - I came across Brit + Co on Pinterest and really loved all that I found. The website has a little bit of everything. I of course have gotten the most out of their courses. Brit + Co has over 120 classes on a wide variety of topics. I mean if you want to learn about make up tutorials, Adobe Illustrator, lettering techniques or coding, this is the website for you. I really like that you have the option to pay per class or pay a $10 monthly subscription for access to the classes. Once again these are self paced classes. So if you are up early or stay up late, the classes are always available. I have enjoyed the lettering classes and the Adobe classes are next on my list. The courses are not too time consuming and are fun at the same time.

  • Oh Yay Studio - Oy Yay Studio is so much fun to follow on Instagram, so if you aren’t following now, I highly suggest doing so. Emily, the founder is amazing! She has to be one of the most creative people that I follow on social media. Emily offers great DIY tips and projects on her blog. In the past few months she has offered access to the Oh Yay Studio Squad. The monthly access to the studio is $6. With the subscription, you gain access to simple DIY projects and coloring pages. The DIY projects make the best simple gifts. Oh, and don’t worry if you don’t sew, you can still enjoy the projects. Sewing is a challenge for me and I have enjoyed the projects. I recommend this subscription for those of you that are wanting to work on crafts.

I hope you find some time to discover new interests and get creative. Leave a note in the comments with an area or skill that you are interested in learning more about. You’ll be surprised with your level of creativity and accomplishments when you make the time for some fun and enrichment.
