Highlights From the Past Year

When looking back at the past year, it’s pretty amazing what people have dealt with. While we all have had some highs and lows during the pandemic, it’s hard to believe that a year has gone by. Arizona shutdown during the week of March 16th. Never in my lifetime did I expect to see school and business closures because of a pandemic.

So, normally a year in review follows a calendar year, but I think an overview of the past 12 months deserves sharing some highlights.

During the past 12 months…

  • My family and I have spent more time cooking from home than ever. It has been to fun to try out new recipes and test our cooking skills. We even learned to make pasta!

  • I started a podcast in September! That was pretty exciting. Testing myself to learn new skills which definitely get out of my comfort zone, was a good thing. Stay tuned for the additional episodes that will be available soon.

  • I became really serious about my e-commerce shop and expanded my product line to include additional vendors. It has been so exciting to fulfill orders and send them out across the United States!

  • When did take the opportunity to travel a bit. The adventures will last a lifetime and I will always be thankful that we made the decision tome the most of getaways. Vacations that we had spoken of for awhile finally happened. Highlights would definitely be the kids learning to ski and going on our first RV trip.

  • In November, I started working with Cortney Zieky, a certified health coach, that helped me make several improvements in my life. I am so grateful for that experience!

  • Our kids became a lot more independent in the past year. I am so proud of their resilienceand flexibility!

  • I’ve read incredible books, I must say my current read will be hard to beat. Start reading The Four Winds ! I can’t remember the last time I read a book this quickly!

  • We’ve been able to spend a lot more time with our puppy, Pepper! She was the biggest fan of remote learning!

  • I have learned to really appreciate the little things. Life slowing down a bit has been a good thing for our family. We aren’t running around as much going in several directions as once. Prioritizing how to spend our time has been a gift.

The pandemic has been a humbling experience, but I am thankful that I’ve been able to grow through the time. I know that many have struggled, but hope that we all can find positive outcomes from this experience. I’d love to hear from you what your highlights of the last 12 months have been.
